Program Director- Ronald McDonald Care Mobile: Mindy Muñoz
Mindy Muñoz has served as the Program Director for the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile, fondly known as the “Tooth Truck”, since 2007. She is responsible for the overall operations and day-to-day relationships for our mobile dental clinic.
Mindy’s personal mission is to continue in a career that has the potential to impact thousands of lives. She previously spent five years administering all aspects of a medical facility caring for roughly 10,000 patient-visits a year in Rio Bravo, Mexico through the “Hands Together Ministry”, the Methodist Church’s largest foreign mission site serving Mexican people through onsite facilities, rural communities, local health facilities and in-home care. She led over 40 missions each year involving more than 1,500 volunteers. One of the administrators Mindy worked with refers to her as the “Pied Piper of Rio Bravo”.
In 2000, Mindy graduated Magna Cum Laude from William Jewel College with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and attended the Oxford University Overseas Study Course in 1999-2000. She has received numerous awards for her work in the community including honors from the Red Cross, the DIF government agency and being chosen as one of five awarded for the International Day of the Woman in recognition of exceptional work performed throughout the municipality in 2003. Mindy is a member of The Network and Partners for Maternal and Child Health and the Medical Group Management Association.
After first meeting in Mexico, Mindy and her husband, Ivan, were married in 2008. They enjoy kid-friendly activities with their two children and participating in community events celebrating the Hispanic culture in their free time.
General Dentist: Dr. Sarah Cimino
Dr. Sarah Cimino joined The Tooth Truck, Inc. as the full-time General Dentist in February 2011. Dr. Sarah provides comprehensive dental treatment for at-risk children in the Springfield area while empowering them to practice healthy dental habits at home. Her personal hope is to remove all fear involved with dental check-ups and restorative appointments for the very youngest of patients. Sarah has a personal connection to the Tooth Truck as her sister is a kindergarten teacher in Springfield and many of her students have benefited from the services we provide.
A Springfield native, Sarah completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology degree from Milikin University in Decatur, Illinois then obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Dentistry in 2008. She spent two and a half years in Liberty, Missouri as an Associate Dentist with Seaport Family Dentistry. Sarah and her husband Justin are thrilled to return to the Springfield area and for the opportunity to serve children who would otherwise not have access to dental care.
Sarah is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Missouri Dental Association, Greater Springfield Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Missouri Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She was appointed to the Greene County Health Commissions’s Dental Advisory Board; she was the two-time recipient of the UMKC School of Dentistry’s Alumni Scholarship; and she completed the UMKC School of Dentistry Senior Departmental Advanced Studies Program with honors in Restorative Dentistry.
